According to our sources, Morro Bay Public Works Director Greg Kwolek was planning to ask for permission from Morro Bay City Council next Tuesday to begin destroying the walk-bridge over Chorro Creek.
Mr. Kwolek, on the other hand, has indicated the City of Morro Bay City has no immediate plans to remove the bridge. He has nicely asked to meet in January with Canet residents in person regarding the bridge.
The coalition to prevent destruction of the bridge will help put the word out for anyone with an interested in fixing and keeping the walk bridge. Please contact us if you wish to attend… again this is for January, date TBD.
According to Tripepi Smith Talent Solutions, Mr. Kwolek has over eight years of local government management and leadership experience.
He served as Division Manager for the City of Pasadena, where he was responsible for critical maintenance projects for the community while also building job skills for unemployed and under-skilled residents.
Kwolek served Los Angeles County as the Small Business Services Program Manager.
He also served as Public Works Management Analyst for the City of La CaƱada Flintridge, where he oversaw the capital budget, trails maintenance, and community right-of-way concerns.
Mr. Kwolek holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English from Hunter College and an MPA from USC.
This is a fast moving and developing story, stay tuned.
